Diet voor Gitte
Her diet should be ? - ½ meat, ¼ cooked grain and the rest should be vegetables. In cancer it is important to have a low amount of carbohydrates and they should be complex carbohydrates, meaning that the body takes a longer time to digest them. For vegetables half should be root vegetables - wortels, beet; the other half should be from above ground – squash, pompoen, snijbonen. See if feeding 3 small meals a day is better for her digestion.
Meat sources:
Beef and chicken are best; they help nourish the Qi and Blood
Once a week you could use lamb or goat – both of these meats are very hot and using them too much may be too strong for her.
She should have ? - ½ can salmon (zalm) every 2-3 days. The zalm is a very good source of essential fatty acids; the bones are also a good source of nutrition for her and are very soft so there is no problem with her to eat them.
Grain:
The best grain for her is barley (gerst). It is best to use the barley that has no shell or husk. I think this is called ort in Dutch. (blijkt dus gort te zijn ;-)) You can find it at the Natuurwinkel in Deventer. Barley is a complex carbohydrate that helps to nourish Qi but more important for her helps to “drain damp”. In Chinese medicine tumors and cancer are often thought of as toxins that accumulate in the body and need to be drained. Also she has an actual drainage and the barley should help with that.
Vegetables:
Mushrooms – button mushrooms or shitake are the best. Mushroom also help to drain and many have anti-tumor activity (shown in scientific studies).
Carrots, string beans (spiezebonen), spinazie, snijbonen – can be pureed.
Beet, pompoen, squash like pompoen (courgette would be too cold for her)- you need to cook the squash and pumpkin. All of these provide pre-biotics that help with digestion.
Spices:
Spices and herbs help to move Qi and Blood; both of which are important in treating cancer. Kardomon is one of the best spices for this and tastes good. ¼ theelepel with her food twice daily is enough. Ginger (gember) is also perfect and what you are doing now seems to be good for her so I would continue with that dose.
Cooking grain and mushrooms:
I would cook these together. The easiest is to slice the mushrooms, mix them with the uncooked grain and cook together. When cooking grain it is best to cover with twice the amount of water plus a little more. Let it soak for 2-3 hours then cook over a low heat for about 20 -30 minutes until it is soft all the way through. The barely will soak up a lot of water.
Sardines: 2 per day – YUMMY! Help nourish the blood and move Qi and Blood. Use the ones packed in water.
Ik heb vrijdag alle ingrediënten in huis gehaald en ben nu bezig de Gort met de paddestoelen te koken en me meer in het dieet te verdiepen. Ik wilde een schemaatje gaan maken en merkte toen pas (ja ik ben wat traag van begrip)


Wat zouden jullie doen?
Ik zit er zelf over te denken om het groente/gort deel terug te brengen naar 25% en die 25% 50/50 te verdelen over de groentes en gort.
De resterende 75% worden dan verdeeld over het orgaanvlees (ongeveer 15%), vis (ongeveer 15%) vleesbotten (40%) en overige zoals Hüttekäse en ei (5%). Wordt dat zo wat denken jullie?
Ga het straks even helemaal uit rekenen hoeveel het wordt. Want met die hoeveelheid vis die er wordt aangeraden kom ik vrees ik niet uit met 15%, maar het percentage vleesbotten nog meer verlagen vind ik ook een beetje eng, wordt dat niet te weinig (minder als 40%)?
